The performance of 27SiMn is higher than that of 30Mn2, with high strength and wear resistance, high hardenability, medium cold deformation plasticity, good machining performance, and acceptable welding performance. It can still maintain high toughness, but it has overheat sensitivity, white point sensitivity and temper brittleness tendency.
The performance of 27SiMn steel is better than that of 30Mn2 steel, the hardenability is high, the critical hardenable diameter in water is 8-22mm, the machinability is good, the cold deformation plasticity and weldability are moderate.
In addition, the toughness of the 27SiMn steel is not much reduced during heat treatment, But it has quite high strength and wear resistance, especially when water quenching, it still has high toughness.
