Casting Production Technology of Wear-resistant Steel Hollow Ball

Wear-resistant steel hollow ball is an important wear-resistant part in various key industries such as metallurgy, mining, petroleum, chemical, coal and power generation. Its production technology and process must meet the requirements of the industry in order to maintain the perfect and advanced performance of wear-resistant steel hollow ball. This article aims to introduce the production technology of wear-resistant steel hollow ball and its casting process, so as to improve the research and application of wear-resistant steel hollow ball.
    
The wear-resistant steel hollow ball is a spherical part that is widely used in many industrial and agricultural applications, such as ball valves, pumps, mixer, and conveyor systems. It can improve the service life of the device and parts, reduce maintenance costs, improve production efficiency, and enhance the production safety. Because of the wide range of applications and the special requirements for wear resistance, the production of wear-resistant steel hollow ball must use special processes and technology, and the key process of steel hollow ball production is casting. Therefore, the production technology of wear-resistant steel hollow ball needs to be inspected and studied in depth.
    
Casting process of wear-resistant steel hollow ball
The production process of wear-resistant steel hollow ball is generally divided into three parts: smelting → forging → casting, and the casting process of wear-resistant steel hollow ball is shown in Fig.1.
    
(1) The raw materials are smelted in the furnace and the smelting materials are closely inspected and monitored. The composition of the smelting materials must be blended and adjusted according to the requirements of the wear-resistant steel;
    
(2) After cooling, the smelted material will be transferred to the forging machine for forging process. The forging adopts the pneumatic forging machine, which can form the tube blank with the required section shape and size;
    
(3) The tube blank is put into the split type silica sol investment casting production line, and the special process of silica sol investment casting is adopted. The inner and outer surfaces of the cylinder wall are coated with a layer of refractory coat to prevent steel from adhering to sand in the casting process;
    
(4) Finally, the wear-resistant alloy steel pipe is placed in the converter, heated by gas and electric heating, and heated to a certain temperature, then the wear-resistant alloy steel pipe will be formed into a finished hollow ball after strong air pressure.
