Structure of Medium Chromium Alloy Wear-resistant Steel
Medium chromium alloy wear-resistant steel is generally composed of medium carbon austenite matrix, chromium carbide, molybdenum, nickel and other alloy elements precipitation, and then quenching and tempering heat treatment. The martensite and residual austenite are the main matrix of this material, as shown in figure 1. The hard chromium carbides, also known as secondary carbides, are distributed in the martensite matrix and form a good composite. The hardness of the matrix is generally 350–500 HV, and the content of chromium is 13–25%.
The excellent performance of medium chromium alloy wear-resistant steel makes it widely used in many industrial fields such as mining, machinery, etc. First of all, compared with other medium and low alloy steel, it has the advantages of wear resistance, impact toughness and fatigue resistance.
