Introduction to Low Alloy Wear-Resistant Steel ZG34Mn2SiV

Low alloy wear-resistant steel ZG34Mn2SiV, also known as “Wear Resistant Steel”, is a multi-functional, high-strength, low-alloy steel with excellent wear resistance, impact toughness and cold working performance. With the development of steel technology, low alloy wear-resistant steel ZG34Mn2SiV has been widely used in various engineering applications.

Properties and Chemical Composition of ZG34Mn2SiV

ZG34Mn2SiV is a low alloy wear-resistant steel that is composed of iron, carbon, manganese, silicon and vanadium as major alloying elements. The alloying elements increase the hardenability and wear resistance of the material. The following table provides the chemical composition of ZG34Mn2SiV:

    | Element | Content (%) |
    |-----------|--------------|
    | C | 0.17-0.23 |
    | Mn | 0.80-1.40 |
    | Si | 0.50-1.00 |
    | V | 0.10-0.30 |

The mechanical properties of ZG34Mn2SiV are summarized in the following table:

    | Property | Value |
    |----------------|--------------------|
    | Hardness | HRC39-50 |
    | Yield Strength | 540-845MPa |
    | Tensile Strength| 730-900MPa |
    | Elongation | 10-18% |

Application of ZG34Mn2SiV
Low alloy wear-resistant steel ZG34Mn2SiV is widely used in engineering applications such as mining, excavating and tunnelling operations. It is also used in agricultural and industrial machinery such as ploughs, loaders, excavators, combines and earth moving machines. ZG34Mn2SiV is mostly used for parts requiring high wear resistant properties, such as pins and bushes, blades, cheek plates and shafts. It is also used for parts in construction equipment, drills, trenchers and crushers. The excellent wear-resistance and high hardness of ZG34Mn2SiV make it a suitable material for applications where wear resistance is essential.

Heat Treatment
ZG34Mn2SiV can be heat treated to meet the customer’s desired properties. The most common process is quenching and tempering, which involves heating the material to a temperature just below the critical point and then quickly cooling it. This process is used to increase the strength and hardness of ZG34Mn2SiV and improve its wear-resistance and scratch-resistance.

The most common heat treatment process used to treat ZG34Mn2SiV is shown in Figure 1. The material is heated until it reaches the critical point and then quickly quenched. After quenching, tempering is used to reduce the brittleness of the material and improve its wear-resistance.

Low alloy wear-resistant steel ZG34Mn2SiV is a multi-functional low-alloy steel with excellent wear-resistance and impact toughness. The addition of alloying elements such as manganese, silicon and vanadium increases the hardness and wear-resistance of the material. The mechanical properties of ZG34Mn2SiV make it suitable for a wide range of engineering applications, from agricultural and industrial machinery to construction equipment. Heat treatment can be used to improve the strength, hardness and wear-resistance of ZG34Mn2SiV.
