Effects of process parameters on mechanical properties and three-body impact wear properties of NM500 wear-resistant ste

NM500 wear-resistant steel is an ultra-high-wear-resistant steel, which has many advantages, such as high strength, high temperature resistance, good toughness and ductility, and good weldability. The NM500 wear-resistant steel has excellent wear resistance, and its surface hardness (HB500~650) and its service life can be greatly improved by proper treatment process. Therefore, NM500 wear-resistant steel has been widely used in many fields such as metallurgy, power plant, heavy industry and other industries.
    
However, it is well known that the properties of steel are determined by the influence of process parameters, so through the studies on the effect of process parameters on the mechanical properties and three-body impact wear properties of NM500 wear-resistant steel, the properties of NM500 wear-resistant steel can be effectively improved.
    
The studies on the effect of process parameters on the ductility and impact wear resistance of NM500 wear-resistant steel mainly include the effects of cold rolling and heat treatment.
    
The studies on the effect of cold rolling process parameters on the mechanical properties and wear resistance of NM500 wear-resistant steel indicate that with the increasing of cold rolling reduction ratio, the strength and hardness of NM 500 wear-resistant steel are gradually increased, but the ductility is decreased; while when the cold rolling speed is increased, the strength of NM 500 wear-resistant steel is decreased and the wear resistance is increased.
    
The studies on the effect of heat treatment process parameters on the mechanical properties and wear resistance of NM500 wear-resistant steel indicate that with the increasing of the tempering temperature, the strength of NM 500 wear-resistant steel is slightly increased. After quenching and tempering treatment, the strength and hardness of NM500 wear-resistant steel are improved greatly. And at the same time, the wear resistance of NM500 wear-resistant steel also improves greatly with the increase of tempering temperature.
    
Besides, different process parameters have different effects on the three-body impact wear resistance of NM500 wear-resistant steel. With the increasing of impact angle and impact speed, the wear volume of NM500 wear-resistant steel increases gradually. And when the test temperature is increased, the wear volume of NM500 wear-resistant steel is decreased initially and then increases gradually.
    
In summary, through studies on the effects of cold rolling and heat treatment process parameters on the mechanical properties and three-body impact wear properties of NM 500 wear-resistant steel, the strength, hardness, ductility and wear resistance of NM 500 wear-resistant steel could be effectively improved. The application of NM500 wear-resistant steel in various fields could thus be further improved and extended.
