Microstructure and Properties of 20MnCrNi2Mo Wear-resistant Cast Steel Added Rare Earth

20MnCrNi2Mo wear-resistant cast steel is a new type of wear-resistant cast steel developed by adding a small amount of rare earth element, which has good wear resistance, high strength and impact toughness. This article comprehensively analyzes the structure and properties of 20MnCrNi2Mo wear resistant cast steel added with rare earth element, by taking pearlite and martensite as examples to describe the microstructure and forming the experimental mechanics data for durability performance determination. The results indicated that the 20MnCrNi2Mo wear-resistant cast steel had a lower hardness and more elongation than common wear-resistant cast steel under the same conditions.

Wear-resistant cast steel is an important material widely used in many industries and widely used to make mining machinery, construction equipment and handling equipment. Its performance mainly depends on its microstructure and properties. 20MnCrNi2Mo wear-resistant cast steel added rare earth element is a new type of wear-resistant cast steel developed by adding a small amount of rare earth element (yttrium and cerium). The performance of this material is improvd with its improved microstructure and the corresponding performance of mechanical properties.

Microstructure

The microstructure of 20MnCrNi2Mo wear-resistant cast steel added rare earth elements is mainly composed of perlite microstructure and δ ferrite. The pearlite microstructure has high hardness and strength, and good wear resistance. The δ ferrite microstructure is soft and elastic to ensure that the alloy has a certain impact toughness. The figures below show the microstructure of 20MnCrNi2Mo wear-resistant cast steel added with rare earth elements at 500 and 600 magnification. Figure 1 (a) is the image of the microstructure at 500 magnification and Fig. 1 (b) is the microstructure at 600 magnification. The microstructure of 20MnCrNi2Mo wear-resistant cast steel added with rare earth elements shows that it still maintains a large percentage of pearlite and some retained austenite, showing that the microstructure of the steel is not uniform and there is some segregation.
