Production Technology of Wear-resistant High Manganese Steel

Wear-resistant high manganese steel is a special alloy steel with a high manganese content and is one of the important materials in the production of railway vehicles and crawler mobile crushers. It is the only wear-resistant material that can meet the working conditions of reducing wear caused by the impact, extrusion and sliding of railway vehicles. In recent years, ordinary high manganese steel shows lasting wear resistance and corrosion resistance superior to other materials, and has become the mainstream material for rolling stock production.
    
Production process of wear-resistant high manganese steel
    
1. The raw materials are mixed and smelted in a furnace. The furnace is heated to its highest temperature, and then the mixed materials are added. The ingredients should be strictly proportioned, added slowly and stirred evenly.
    
2. After the molten steel is smelted to a certain temperature, the molten steel is kept in the furnace at the highest temperature for solidification. During this period, various agents such as slag modifiers, flux agents, and inoculants can be added.
    
3. After the molten steel is solidified at the highest temperature, the slag is stirred and drawn off. The formed steel is then added to the converter and injected with compressed air, and the temperature is raised to a certain degree.
    
4. Then under the action of compressed air, purified carbon is blown and oxygen is injected, and the temperature is controlled in a timely manner. The excess carbon is removed and the required chemical composition is obtained.
    
5. After all the alloy elements are obtained, alloy steel is made by rapid cooling or slow cooling.

The properties of wear-resistant high manganese steel
    
1. Wear and corrosion resistance. From the perspective of wear resistance, the wear resistance of wear-resistant high-manganese steel is 6-7 times higher than that of ordinary high-manganese steel.
    
2. Good machinability. The wear-resistant high-manganese steel can be directly cut and turned by the machine tool and small relative displacement during the cutting process.
    
3. High strength. The yield strength of wear-resistant high-manganese steel can reach 550MPa or higher.
    
4. Good process performance. Wear-resistant high-manganese steel has low cutting force, good welding performance and convenient stamping and processing.

Application of wear-resistant high manganese steel
    
1. Can be used for all types of rolling stock and locomotives, such as high-speed trains, electric locomotives, electric multiple units and light diesel locomotives.
    
2. Wear-resistant high manganese steel is also widely used in crawler-type mobile crushers, mining machinery, offshore engineering vessels, cement, mining and casting industry, and is the main material for manufacturing wear-resistant parts.
