Research and application of medium temperature wear-resistant cast steel

Medium temperature wear-resistant cast steel is a kind of special cast steel which has better wear resistance and good toughness at medium temperature. It is widely used in metallurgical, machinery, mines and steel rolling industries, and has become an important material for prolonging the service life of parts.

In order to meet the needs of various industries, a lot of research and exploration has been made on the wear resistance of medium temperature wear-resistant cast steel, and some achievements have been obtained. By using various techniques, such as alloying design, solid solution, precipitation hardening and composite structure, the wear resistance of the steel can be greatly improved.

The working principle of medium temperature wear-resistant cast steel is to increase its hardness by adding Cr, Mo, V and other elements. Cr is an important alloy element for improving wear resistance and has good molting performance. Mo, V and other elements can form hard carbides and improve wear resistance. Moreover, the proper addition of these alloying elements can also obtain better comprehensive performance, such as good toughness and plasticity or a certain level of creep resistance.

At the same time, proper heat treatment, such as multiple normalizing, quenching and tempering, can further improve the wear resistance of medium temperature wear-resistant cast steel. Normalizing can refine the microstructure, improve the uniformity of the structure, eliminate defects and residual stress, and make it evenly quenched, so as to improve the impact toughness and machinability of cast steel. Quenching can give it high hardness, while tempering can avoid brittleness and make it with good overall performance.

In addition, austenitizing, isocarping and other heat treatments can further optimize the structure and properties of medium temperature wear-resistant cast steel. Austenitizing can further refine the microstructure, make it easier for the carbide to precipitate, and improve the wear resistance. Isocarping can refine the grain size, reduce the organization difficulty, reduce the wear of the steel rolling, and improve the service life of the parts.

The application of medium temperature wear-resistant cast steel has been widely concerned by people. For its wear resistance and toughness, it has been widely used in the metallurgical, machinery, mine and steel rolling industries. Common applications include wear-resistant parts, such as roller and hammerhead in metallurgy and machinery, wear-resistant plates in mining machinery, and roller and liner in steel rolling mills. In addition, this kind of steel is also used in some structural parts, such as tugboat fittings, vane of pump and valve, and other parts with high wear resistance.

Through the above research and exploration, the wear resistance and comprehensive performance of medium temperature wear-resistant cast steel have been improved. Its application scope is also constantly expanding, and it is widely used in various fields. In the future, with the continuous progress of the steel casting technology, the wear resistance and toughness of the medium temperature wear-resistant cast steel will be further optimized, further meeting the demand of the industry.
