Research on Heat Treatment Process Parameters of New Low Alloy Wear-resistant Steel for Excavator Bucket Teeth

With the development of China's infrastructure industry, the technology of excavators is advancing rapidly. In recent years, the development of excavators has entered a diversified diversification stage, and the production of new wear-resistant alloys for excavators has become imperative. In order to improve the wear resistance of excavator bucket teeth, new low-alloy wear-resistant steels are used in the manufacturing process of excavator bucket teeth. Through scientific and reasonable heat treatment process parameters, the comprehensive performance of wear-resistant alloys can be improved, and the service life of excavator bucket teeth can be extended.

Heat Treatment Process Parameters of Low Alloy Wear-resistant Steel

Heat treatment process is generally divided into four sections (Table 1).

Table 1: Heat Treatment Process Part

    | Heat Treatment Process Part |Process |

    |1 |Annealing |

    |2 |Normalizing |

    |3 |Quenching |

    |4 |Tempering |

The annealing temperature and time of the newly developed wear-resistant steel for the excavator bucket tooth are important process parameters. The annealing temperature is generally 800-900 ℃, and the time is about 2-3 hours. If the annealing temperature is too high, the structure of the steel will be destroyed, and the wear resistance will be affected. In the normalizing process of wear-resistant steel, the normalizing temperature should be maintained at 950-1050 ℃. The normalizing time is about 4-5 hours, and the cooling time should be between 16-18 hours. After normalizing, the microstructure of the steel grain is uniform, the strength of the steel is improved, and the wear resistance is increased.

Quenching is an important heat treatment in the wear-resistant steel manufacturing process. The quenching temperature of the newly developed wear-resistant steel should be maintained at 850-950 ℃. The heating and cooling rates should be controlled. In the quenching process, the heating rate should not be too fast, otherwise the steel will overheat, so that the structure of the steel is destroyed and the wear resistance is reduced.

The tempering process of the heat treated wear-resistant steel should be slow. The tempering temperature should be maintained at 650-700 ℃, and the tempering time should be controlled at about 2-4 hours. During the tempering process, the tempering temperature should be increased and the tempering time should be increased. This can effectively reduce the brittleness of the steel, increase the hardness of the steel and improve the wear resistance.

Conclusion

Heat treatment process parameters play an important role in improving the comprehensive performance of low alloy wear-resistant steels used in excavators. To obtain better performance, the annealing temperature and time, normalizing temperature and time, quenching temperature and time, and tempering temperature and time of the wear-resistant steel for excavator bucket teeth must be strictly controlled. It is the key to effectively improve the wear resistance of excavator bucket teeth and extend its service life.
